Ronda Bazooka is a character I created in 2008
to narrate my adventures when I moved to Los Angeles.
Overtime, Ronda Bazooka became a trans-gender, trans-race, and
trans-nature alter ego that I use to tell stories on many medium.
*****
In the last 8 years, Ronda has become the heroine of an interactive animation, a graphic novel, over 20 digital stories,
a poster and dozens of postcards.
Here is a timeline with all the projects so far:
In 2016, Ronda Bazooka became a few more postcards for GizLie, and a couple of animations for my 100 Day Video Project:
- #100daysofrondas. Answering the global call made by Elle Luna and The Great Discontent, I’ve created one drawing a day for 100 days, with Ronda Bazooka as the central character. You can see the full series by clicking on the button above.
- The Stuff We Don’t Tell: I created a short graphic-novel to process creative-grief after a rejection. You can download and read this five minutes here.
- #creativefolly: after finishing the 100 days of Rondas (see below), I’ve decided to complete another creative challenge, this one of 60 days and that consists of filling up one page of a notebook per day. It sounds easier than it is…
- Ticking Bomb: I co-wrote, animated and edited an interactive animated video that offered 16 possible story lines and over 20 minutes of content for the Tribeca/Genero TV contest. We were finalist. Watch the video below, and to keep track of the different storylines, check the graphic under it:
- Sometimes Infinity Only Lasts 147 Pages: I also wrote and self-published my first graphic novel, about the hardships of getting out of a creative burnout by finishing something. You can buy a physical copy here. I also made a mini-trailer for the book that you can watch below:
- Last but no least, I co-created an online shop named GizLie where you can buy some of my co-creations inspired by or using Ronda Bazooka.
I wrote and draw over 20 clickable stories on an application named Tapestry that unfortunately decided to close. You can read a selection of stories below.
Note: To “turn the page” and move forward, you need to click on the screen. Don’t go too fast as you can’t go backward.
